“PoK, Nehru’s mistake, Kashmiri Pandits”: HM Amit Shah introduces 2 bills on valley in parliament

Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 have been passed in the Lok Sabha. Home Minister Amit Shah presented these today. During this, he spoke on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, the mistakes of former PM Jawaharlal Nehru and the rights given to Kashmiri Pandits.

Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Lok Sabha. While presenting his views, Shah said that after the removal of Article 370, there was a 70 percent reduction in terrorist incidents in the state. The Home Minister said that Congress and other parties only consoled the Kashmiri Pandits. Whereas PM Narendra Modi actually worked for him. The PM is now working towards providing housing to the Kashmiri Pandits who fled after selling their houses at throwaway prices.

Amit Shah said, ‘After the 1980s, there was an era of terrorism (in Jammu and Kashmir) and it was a horrific scene. The people who lived on this land, considering it their own country, were thrown out and no one cared about them, nor did they try to stop them. In fact, those who were responsible for stopping it were enjoying holidays in England.

The Home Minister said, ‘When they (Kashmiri Pandits) were displaced, they were forced to live as refugees in their own country. About 46,631 families were displaced in their own country. This bill is to give them rights, this bill is to give them representation.

Amit Shah said – Honor is associated with name, only those people can see it, who want to take the finger of those left behind and move them forward with compassion. Those people cannot understand this, who use it for vote bank. Narendra Modi ji is such a leader, who has become the Prime Minister of the country after being born in a poor family, he knows the pain of the backward and the poor.

Home Minister Amit Shah said, ‘When terrorism started in Kashmir. Targeting and driving them away started. I have seen many people shedding tears and consoling. Narendra Modi is the only leader who tried to help them. We cannot imagine the pain of those who lost their property worth crores of rupees. Their property was snatched away at throwaway prices. The administration did not listen to them.

The Home Minister said that the Modi government is doing the work of getting back their properties in a retrospective manner to those people who have lost their property worth crores of rupees in Kashmir.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023 and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2023, “Earlier there were 37 seats in Jammu, now there are 43. Earlier there were 46 seats in Kashmir, now there are 47 seats and 24 seats have been reserved in PoK. Because PoK is ours.”

The Home Minister said — “Kashmir had to bear the brunt of the mistakes made during Nehru’s time for years. The first and biggest mistake – when our army was winning, ceasefire was imposed as soon as the Punjab area was reached and POK was born. If the ceasefire had happened after three days, today PoK would have been a part of India. Second- Made the mistake of taking India’s internal issue to the UN.”

Home Minister Shah said, “The bill I have brought here is related to providing justice and rights to those people who were treated unfairly, insulted and neglected. In any society, those who are deprived should be brought forward, this is the basic spirit of the Constitution of India. They have to be brought forward in such a way that their respect is not diminished. There is a lot of difference between giving authority and giving authority respectfully. Therefore, it is necessary to name it as Other Backward Class instead of weak and deprived class.”

Responding to the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Who was the origin of the Kashmir problem? I never said that Nehru was harmful. Everyone expressed their views on the bill. The amendment bill was discussed for 6 hours.”
