JDS’ HD Revanna gets bail from Special Court in kidnapping case

Janata Dal (Secular) MLA HD Revanna has been granted bail by a local court in a kidnapping case. His son, Prajwal Revanna, has been accused to alleged Karnataka sex scandal, which has been linked to obscene videos.

HD Revanna was taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 4, and remained under custody for three days. The local court ordered the JD(S) leader to give a bail bond of Rs. 5 lakh.

He is the son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and has alleged played a role into the kidnapping of a sex assault survivor involving his son Prajwal Revanna.

Last Thursday, CV Nagesh, counsel for HD Revanna, had argued that the MLA was not maintainable under the law, as there was no mention of evidence against him in the petition filed by the SIT.

Nagesh also claimed that the arrest of HD Revanna was unnecessary, as he could have been released post interrogation and could have called him back whenever required.
