‘Congress looted Chhattisgarh’: PM Modi on ED’s action in Mahadev betting app case

“Action will be taken against those who have looted the poor of Chhattisgarh,” PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Durg, Chhattisgarh, on Saturday and attacked the Congress government in the state over corruption issue. PM Modi also lashed out at Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel over ED’s action in the alleged Mahadev Betting App scam.

“The corrupt government of Chhattisgarh has broken your trust by committing scams one after the other. PSC and Mahadev App scam are already in the news, there is no dearth of scams in the report card of the Congress government,” said PM Modi.

“Action will be taken against those who have looted the poor of Chhattisgarh. Every penny will be accounted for from him,” added PM Modi.

“These Congressmen abuse Modi day and night. But the Chief Minister here has now started abusing the country’s security forces and investigative agencies also. But I will tell my brothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh that this is Modi, he is not afraid of abuses. You have sent Modi to Delhi only to hold the corrupt accountable,” further said PM Modi.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a search operation on November 2, against the money laundering networks linked with Mahadev Book Online Betting app in Chhattisgarh after which is seized Cash of Rs 5.39 Crore and Bank balance of Rs 15.59 Crore, “ED has conducted search operations on 2/11/2023 against the money laundering networks linked with Mahadev Book Online Betting APP in Chhattisgarh in which Cash of Rs. 5.39 Crore and Bank balance Rs. 15.59 Crore has been intercepted and frozen/ seized,” said ED.

 

The ED also claimed that “ED has recovered a cash amount of 5.39 Crore (from his Car & at his residence). Asim Das has admitted that the seized funds were arranged by the Mahadev APP promoters to be delivered to one Politician ‘Bhagel’ for upcoming election expenses in the state of Chhattisgarh.”

The Assembly Election in poll-bound Chhattisgarh is on 7th and 17th of November.
