According to reports related to the party’s program, Rahul Gandhi is doing a new public relations exercise on the lines of Bharat Jodo Yatra. The journey, which began on January 14 from the northeastern Indian state of Manipur, will end on March 20. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that during the yatra, efforts will be made to talk to youth, women and marginalised people.

Bharat Nyay Yatra will cover these states

He said that Rahul Gandhi and Congress have huge experience after the Bharat Jodo Padyatra, which passed through many states before this. Venugopal said the Bharat Nyay Yatra will cover a distance of 6,200 kilometres. After starting from Manipur, Congress leaders will also visit Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Gujarat. At last, the Bharat Nyay Yatra will reach Maharashtra. The yatra will conclude on March 20 in Mumbai.

According to Venugopal, a meeting of the Congress Working Committee was held on 21st December. In this, it was unanimously decided to organise ‘Bharat Nyaya Yatra’ from Manipur to Mumbai from 14th January. The committee accepted that Rahul Gandhi should start this journey from East to West from Manipur itself. Rahul Gandhi also agreed to the consensus reached in the committee.

The journey will pass through 14 states and 85 districts

During this 65-day long yatra, Rahul and other Congress leaders will pass through 14 states and 85 districts. Unlike the Bharat Jodo Yatra, this time a journey of 6,200 kilometres will be covered by bus. According to Congress General Secretary Venugopal, many common people will get a chance to meet Rahul during the bus journey. He said that a short distance walk has also been planned from time to time during the entire journey.

Rahul Gandhi travelled 4500 km in 150 days Bharat Jodo Yatra

Let us tell you that before this, Rahul Gandhi had started Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari on 6 September last year. There was an extensive public relations campaign during the padyatra of more than 4500 kilometres in 150 days. Bharat Jodo Yatra was also very popular on social media. Encouraged by the success, Congress party leaders were requesting Rahul to undertake another yatra.

Possible motive for starting from the North-East?

Starting the yatra from Manipur is also being considered as a political target of Congress. Let us tell you that in the month of May this year, Manipur was continuously in the headlines due to violent incidents and caste conflicts. In view of the sensitive situation, Home Minister Amit Shah himself had to visit Manipur. During the conflict and violence between the Kuki and Meitei communities, shameful incidents like ‘naked parade of women’ were also reported. There was also an uproar in Parliament on this issue.
