Assembly Election Results 2023: BJP returns in Chhattisgarh, Congress gets 35 seats; awaits final result

Strong comeback of BJP in Chhattisgarh. BJP is ahead on 55 seats and Congress is ahead on 35 seats. Seven ministers including Deputy Chief Minister S Singh Deo were also walking behind from their seats.

Counting of votes has been going on in four states since 8:00 am. After 4 hours a score card is coming out showing a clear 3:1. BJP government is seen forming in three states and Congress government in one. Defying the predictions of exit polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be making a strong comeback in Chhattisgarh, while the Congress Party seems to be limited to 35 seats.

In Chhattisgarh, BJP is seen making a strong comeback after 5 years. According to the trends till 12:30 pm, BJP is leading on 55 seats while Congress is leading on 35 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party, which was reduced to 15 seats in the last elections, is returning to power this time with a lead of 40 seats. Whereas Congress, which had made a clean sweep in the last elections, this time its tally seems to be stuck at 35.

In the exit poll, Bhupesh Baghel had emerged as the most popular face for the post of Chief Minister. But now BJP seems to be making a strong comeback in Chhattisgarh, defying all the exit polls.
