Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on 5th April, 2021 hit out at Centre for exporting COVID-19 vaccine instead of speeding up the domestic vaccination program, saying the government is more concerned about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s global image than saving people’s lives. “Government exported more vaccine doses than it administered to the citizens. To improve his image at global level, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the decision and exported over 64.5 million vaccine doses to 84 countries. Government is more concerned about its image than saving people’s lives,” said Raghav Chadha, spokesperson, AAP.

“The rate at which we are vaccinating our citizens, it will take 15 years to vaccinate the entire population. The AAP demands an increase in the rate of vaccinations against Covid-19 so that each and every Indian can get vaccinated,” said Raghav Chadha.
“The ministry of external affairs said a few days ago that India is competing with China in terms of exporting vaccines. Proudly stating that India is ahead of China in terms of vaccine diplomacy. A country which has a total of 90,000 Covid-19 cases is being compared to a country where 90,000 cases are recorded everyday,” Chadha further said while addressing the press conference.
In view of dynamic nature of COVID-19 pandemic and inclusion of new priority groups, no time frame at present can be indicated for completion of vaccination
