[Watch Video] Aaditya Thackeray slams Maharashtra govt over Nagpur violence, says law and order has collapsed

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has criticized the Maharashtra government over the recent violence in Nagpur, blaming the state’s Home Department for failing to maintain law and order.

Addressing the issue, Thackeray alleged that the control over law enforcement is no longer in the hands of the police. “The sad thing is that law and order is not in the hands of the police. If it was, then what we have been witnessing for the last 2-3 years, including countless rape cases and crimes, would not have happened,” he said.

The Home Department, which is under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has come under fire from the opposition for its handling of crime and security issues in the state. Thackeray’s remarks reflect growing concerns over rising lawlessness and the alleged political interference in policing matters.

The Nagpur violence incident has triggered political reactions, with opposition parties accusing the Shinde-led Maharashtra government of failing to ensure public safety. However, the ruling alliance has yet to respond to Thackeray’s criticism.
