Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the nation in an open letter today. He writes the letter on his completion of one year of the second term. In this letter, he points out various achievements and challenges faced by the government in a year. Abrogation of Article 370, settlement of Ayodhya dispute, criminalization of Triple Talaq and the Citizenship Amendment Act are few of the key achievements of the central government.
Our PM believes that after being elected for the second term, he showed the dream of India achieving new heights and becoming a global leader to every India. The decisions taken by his government were directed at fulfilling this dream.

“Article 370 (abrogation) furthered the spirit of national unity and integration,” said PM Modi on the decision of abrogating Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 and bifurcation of the state into two union territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

According to him, the judgement on Ayodhya dispute brought an amicable end to a debate which had been persisting for centuries. The decision of creating the post of Chief of Defence Staff was “momentum to the nation’s development trajectory”. It has improved coordination amongst the armed forces.

“While on one hand are powers with great economic resources and state-of-the-art healthcare systems, on the other hand, is our country besieged with problems amidst a vast population and limited resources,” said the PM on the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. We as a nation need to ensure that the inconveniences and “tremendous suffering” faced by the labourers, migrant workers, small scale industries and hawkers do not become a disaster.

While promoting the agenda of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ he said “We have to move forward based on our abilities, in our way, and there is only one way to do it – Aatmanirbhar Bharat or Self-reliant India,” he said, adding, “This initiative will usher in a new era of opportunities for every Indian, be it our farmers, workers, small entrepreneurs or youth associated with startups.”

“The list of such historic actions and decisions taken in the national interest would be too long to detail in this letter. But I must say that every day of this year, my government has worked round the clock with full vigour, taking and implementing these decisions,” Modi said while talking about how his government has successfully empowered, women, farmer, youth and poor to decrease the rural-urban gap.

According to him, “Powered by the Mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ India is marching forward in all spheres.”
