Amid the nation’s efforts to curb the spread of the rising Covid-19 cases, several states imposed a slew of new and strict guidelines. Now, considering India’s hold over the novel coronavirus, PM Modi held several crucial marathon meetings on Monday, including one with health officials on vaccination, giving a green signal for vaccination drive to all adults – making it one of the crucial decisions.
On the administrative front, the highlight of the day is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with vaccine manufacturers in the evening. The ANI report suggests that PM will address the nation on the COVID-19 situation at 8:45 this evening.

The meeting comes a day after India made everyone above 18 eligible for the jab.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi held a meeting with Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers. During the meeting, he said that the vaccine manufacturers developed and manufactured COVID-19 jabs in record time.
He maintained that COVID-19 vaccines manufactured in India are the cheapest globally. “World’s largest vaccination programme underway here,” he added.
Meanwhile, India has reported 2.59 lakh new coronavirus cases and 1,761 deaths in the last 24 hours, stated that the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday.
The total number of cases has spiked to 1.53 crore while the death toll went up to 1.80 lakh while the active number of cases in the country stands at 20.31 lakh.
In the last 24 hours, 1.54 lakh recovered from the infection. With this, the total recoveries reached 1.31 crore. Daily covid cases in India had jumped a record 2.73 lakh on Monday.
