Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers here on Sunday, ahead of the Union Budget.
The Union Budget, which will be delivered in Parliament on February 1, will be the Modi government’s final full-fledged budget before the 2024 general elections.
The meeting, the first for the Union Council of Ministers in 2023, began about 10 a.m. and is scheduled to end in the evening.
According to sources, the workings of several ministries and policy initiatives undertaken by the Narendra Modi government will be evaluated and debated.
This comes amid speculation of a cabinet change and before of assembly elections in nine states this year.
