Mumbai Police has provided ‘parameter security’ to Bachchan family and outside Jalsa, the Bachchan’s well-known bungalow in Juhu. The police has called it a precautionary measure as the veteran actress Jaya Bachchan received threats on social media after her speech in the Parliament monsoon session on September 15.
The action comes after a day of her speech at Parliament. Jaya Bachchan, a Samajwadi Party member, said in Rajya Sabha: “Just because of a few people, you cannot tarnish the whole industry. Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain.” She did not mention any names but it seemed she took a jibe at, Actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan and Actress Kangana Ranaut.
A large section of social media users criticised her statements, with hashtag #ShameOnJayaBachchan trending on Twitter.
Actor Kangana Ranaut also hit out, she tweeted in Hindi “Which plate has Jaya ji and her industry given? A thali was found in which two minutes of roll item numbers and a romantic scene were found, that too after sleeping with HERO. I taught the industry, the fame, decorated the thali with patriotic films, this is my own plate Jaya ji nahi aapki.”
