Pakistan Violates Ceasfire: Complete blackout enforced in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, Barmer and parts of J&K

Just hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire on May 10, multiple violations by Pakistan have been reported across the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB), prompting emergency response measures across several districts in India.

According to officials, explosions were reported across Srinagar, Udhampur, and parts of Jammu. In response, red alerts were issued, and complete blackouts have been enforced in Jaisalmer and Barmer in Rajasthan, as well as parts of Jammu & Kashmir.

The Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah posted on X, saying: “This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up.” Visuals from Srinagar and Udhampur captured loud explosions and interceptor fire, confirming the deployment of air defence units.

The District Magistrate of Barmer also issued an urgent public advisory, asking all residents to observe strict blackout protocols and avoid stepping out amid reports of incoming air threats.

Earlier, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had confirmed a ceasefire understanding after Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called his Indian counterpart at 3:35 PM on May 10. Both sides had agreed to halt all land, air, and sea operations from 5:00 PM IST.

With confirmed violations now surfacing across sectors, security forces have been given full operational flexibility to respond. The situation remains tense, with further updates awaited from the Ministry of Defence.
