MUMBAI, Sep 8 — A fire at ONGC’s Uran gas processing plant in Navi Mumbai has disrupted gas supply, raising concerns over CNG availability across the city. Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) confirmed that the supply to its city gate station at Wadala was affected, which could impact CNG distribution in Mumbai.
In a statement, MGL said it is prioritising uninterrupted supply to its domestic PNG consumers, even as CNG stations may face shortages in the short term.
The blaze broke out around 3 pm at ONGC’s Uran facility and was brought under control by the company’s fire brigade after nearly two hours, local police officials said. No immediate reports of casualties have emerged.
