  • Affected Workforce: The strike involves 70 outsourced and 86 contractual employees, whose salaries have reportedly been delayed since December 2024.
  • Employee Grievances: In a letter dated January 9, employees highlighted the financial hardships faced due to the delay. They expressed concerns over accumulating penalties, inability to meet essential expenses like rent, EMIs, and school fees, and the stress caused by recovery agents and threats from landlords.
  • Root Cause: The employees blamed a persistent scarcity of funds, which they claim has been an issue since the beginning of FY25. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) was accused of failing to provide timely funds to resolve the crisis.

In their letter to the NCLT registrar, employees stated, “It is absolutely pathetic that MCA has lent a deaf ear to the basic necessities of outsourced and contractual employees… being the sole earning source of income of the family, we are under immense pressure.”

The strike underscores the urgent need for a resolution to the funding and salary disbursement challenges, which have disrupted both employee livelihoods and NCLT’s functioning.
