Mumbai continued to reel under heavy downpours over the past 24 hours, prompting the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to issue a high tide warning on June 19, 2025. The civic body has urged residents, especially those in coastal and low-lying areas, to exercise caution during high tide hours as rainfall is expected to intensify across the city and suburbs.
According to the forecast, a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall will prevail throughout the day. A high tide of 3.92 meters is expected at 17:44 hrs today, which could compound waterlogging in vulnerable pockets.
Tide timings for June 20 include:
- Low Tide: 00:31 hrs – 1.39 meters
- High Tide: 07:09 hrs – 3.52 meters
- Low Tide: 12:40 hrs – 2.04 meters
The India Meteorological Department has warned of continued moderate to heavy showers across Mumbai, Pune, and the Western Ghats. Commuters using the Mumbai-Pune expressway have been advised to travel cautiously due to reduced visibility and slippery road conditions.
The BMC and disaster response teams remain on high alert as the city braces for more rainfall in the next 12–18 hours.
