Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey to initiate “Sunday Street”

Mumbai: Newly-appointed Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey will kick off the initiative called ‘Sunday Street’ from March 27.

Mumbai, Mar 26 (UNI) To encourage Mumbaikars to step out of their homes, the newly-appointed Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey will kick off the initiative called ‘Sunday Street’ from March 27, sources said on Friday. As per the sources, 13 stretches in Mumbai will remain shut to traffic every Sunday and can be used for walks, cycling, skating, yoga or by children as a sports zone. Dorabhai Tata Road at Nariman Point, Carter Road in Bandra, Mind Space Road in Goregaon, Lokhandwala Road in D N Nagar (Andheri), Tansa Pipe Line at Mulund and Eastern Expressway in Vikhroli will be closed for vehicular movement between 0600 hours and 1000 hours on Sunday, sources added.
