
On Monday evening, March 22, temporary audience gallery collapsed at the venue of the 47th National Kabaddi Competition at Guntakandla in Suryapet district of Telangana. The unfortunate accident leads to injury of 50 people.
The Police said that the accident took place due to weak structures and those who injured have been shifted to hospitals and treatment is undergoing in local hospitals. The incident took place before the commencement of the competition, which leads to various injuries.

The collapse was due to weak structure made of wood and other materials, however the exact reason behind the accident would be known after investigation, the Police said. Suryapet SP reacted to incident and said, “No deaths have been reported and injured are undergoing treatment.”
The event was organised jointly by Telangana Kabaddi Association and Kabaddi Association of Suryapet district. The event is organised for boys and girls every year.
A total of 56 state teams from India participated in the Junior National Kabaddi Championships 2021 which was started in Suryapet from the 22nd of March till 25th of March 2021 at SP Office Suryapet.
