Massive fire in Rajkot’s game arcade kills 24, including several children

A massive fire engulfed a popular game zone in Rajkot city on Saturday evening, claiming the lives of at least 24 individuals, including children. The incident occurred at around 4.30 PM in the TRP game zone, fibre dome structure bustling with families enjoying summer vacation activities.

The emergency response teams were quick to respond to the location. The officials of Rajkot have reported that the structure built for gaming collapsed, due to immense fire, hence making the rescue operation difficult.


“The Fire control room received a call at around 4:30 PM regarding the blaze at the game zone. Fire tenders and ambulances rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The fire caused the collapse of the structure, and debris is being cleared. So far, we have received a figure of 16 deaths,” said Prabhav Joshi, Rajkot collector, while sharing an update on the situation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his sorrow over the incident and stated that all the necessary assistance will be provided.
