BJP veteran L K Advani was not invited to the grand event at Ayodhya on August 5.
BJP veteran L K Advani was not invited to the grand event at Ayodhya on August 5 to mark the pioneering ceremony for the Ram Temple on the location.
As per the reports, the 92-year-old leader who propelled the ambitions of his party with the Ram rathyatra in 1990, Advani had no invitation from either place, before Saturday, with only four days to go for the event.
The date for ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony in Ayodhya was scheduled for 5 August. The highly publicized event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5.
Mr Advani, along with veteran leaders such as Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Uma Bharati, appeared last week in Lucknow before a special CBI court via a video link.
Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti, Mr. Advani and Mr. Joshi are among the members of the BJP suspected of conspiracy.
The day before his scheduled testimony with the CBI Court last week the Home minister Amit Shah and Secretary-General of BJP Bhupinder Yadav met Advani in his residence and “none of them spoke of the Ayodhya 5 August project.”
Reports are also included that all would be welcomed through telephone calls. Champat Rai, Secretary General of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, shall coordinate the invitations.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust managing the project after the order of the Supreme Court last year paved the way for the building of the temple.
The foundation ceremony to build the Ram temple at Ayodhya will be aired nationally on Doordarshan.
