The expressway will begin near the Yamuna Expressway, approximately 24 kilometers ahead of Jewar, and extend towards Bulandshahr, where it will integrate with the Ganga Expressway. This new link will significantly enhance access between western and eastern Uttar Pradesh, benefitting commuters traveling to and from Prayagraj, Meerut, and nearby districts.

The alignment of the expressway is designed to facilitate smoother traffic movement, ensuring a seamless connection between multiple expressways, including the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Expressways. The corridor will serve as a crucial link for freight transportation and will support industrial growth in the region.

Estimated Cost and Government Investment

The estimated cost of the Jewar-Ganga Expressway is ₹4,415 crore, with ₹1,000 crore already allocated in the Uttar Pradesh state budget for its initial development. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is overseeing the project, and the state government aims to expedite approvals to begin land acquisition and construction soon.

Economic and Infrastructure Impact

Once operational, the expressway is expected to significantly reduce congestion on existing routes and provide faster access to Jewar Airport, which is set to become one of India’s largest aviation hubs. The improved infrastructure will attract investors, promote tourism, and generate employment opportunities, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s position as an emerging economic powerhouse.

The expressway will also complement the ambitious Ganga Expressway, a 594-km stretch that will enhance east-west connectivity across Uttar Pradesh. By linking these critical transport corridors, the government aims to facilitate smoother trade and transportation, benefiting industries, businesses, and local communities.

Current Status and Future Outlook

The project is currently in the proposal stage, with land acquisition yet to commence. Environmental and feasibility studies are underway, and authorities are working towards fast-tracking approvals. Once construction begins, the expressway is expected to be completed within the next few years.
