What will happen in the test flight?
In the first test flight of the Gaganyaan mission, ISRO will send the crew module to outer space, after which it will be returned back to the ground. Navigation, sequencing, telemetry, energy etc. will be checked during the flight. If you understand in simple words, in case of any malfunction in the rocket during the mission, the system that brings the astronaut inside safely to Earth will be tested.
The mission was announced in 2018
Let us tell you that everyone has been waiting for the Gaganyaan mission for a long time. This mission was announced by PM Modi during his Independence Day speech in the year 2018. The target was to complete this mission by 2022, but it got delayed due to the Covid pandemic. Now, this mission is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025.
