Saturday, Feb 28, 2026 — As tensions escalate in the Middle East following coordinated strikes by Israel and the United States on Iran, questions have surfaced regarding the whereabouts of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently concluded a state visit to Israel.
Prime Minister Modi’s two-day visit to Israel took place from February 25 to February 26, 2026. He arrived on February 25 and held high-level meetings with Israeli leadership, addressed the Knesset, visited Yad Vashem, and signed multiple bilateral agreements spanning defence, technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture and strategic cooperation.
During the visit, India and Israel elevated their relationship to what officials described as a “Special Strategic Partnership.” Modi was also awarded the Knesset Medal, marking a symbolic strengthening of ties between the two nations.
The visit concluded on February 26 with a formal farewell ceremony at Ben Gurion Airport. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife personally saw him off before he departed Israel. Reports from international media outlets and India’s Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the visit wrapped up successfully.
The military strikes on Iran occurred after the Prime Minister had already completed his tour and departed Israel. There has been no indication that he was in the region at the time of the attack.
Given the rapidly evolving situation, diplomatic responses from global leaders, including India, are expected as regional tensions continue to rise.
