International Women’s Day: PM Narendra Modi applauds women’s achievements in various fields

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Indian women’s achievements in a variety of fields on International Women’s Day. He stated that his government will continue to focus on women’s empowerment through different programmes, emphasising dignity and opportunity.

PM Modi tweeted, “On Women’s Day, I salute our Nari Shakti and their accomplishments in diverse fields. The Government of India will keep focusing on women empowerment through its various schemes with an emphasis on dignity as well as opportunity.”

He further added, “From financial inclusion to social security, quality healthcare to housing, education to entrepreneurship, many efforts have been made to put our Nari Shakti at the forefront of India’s development journey. These efforts will continue with even greater vigour in the coming times”

PM Modi will also deliver a speech at a programme on International Women’s Day at a women saint’s camp in Dhordo, Kutch, at 6 p.m. through video conferencing. During this programme, he also highlights the valuable contributions of women saints to the societal structure of our country.

The seminar is being held to honour the contributions of female saints to women’s empowerment in society. According to PMO, the conference in Dhordo would attract around 500 woman saints. International Women’s Day is observed every year on March 8th. ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’ is the theme for International Women’s Day this year.
