International Women’s Day: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya honours women healthcare workers

Mandaviya said that India has been able to deal with the pandemic successfully only because of the selfless service of women in the vaccination campaign.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday felicitated 72 women for their outstanding contribution to the COVID vaccination work and said that the development of the health sector is incomplete without the contribution of women.

During the program organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Mandaviya said that India has been able to deal with the pandemic successfully only because of the selfless service of women in the vaccination campaign.

He said, “The development of the health sector is incomplete without the contribution of women. Our ANMs and ASHA workers are the pillars of health sector development. Our ASHA workers are working continuously for the service of the country. The Health Minister said that she is ensuring vaccination of every eligible person by reaching every house located at the last end even in the inaccessible areas.

He said that under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign, ASHA workers went door-to-door to encourage people to get vaccinated and removed their hesitation.

In another event organised by the Government, Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Labour & Employment hosted the initiative of Health & Nutrition check-up camp today. The program was held to stimulate the notion of ‘Swastha Bharat’ amongst the women workers & admit their contribution in nation-building, a Health & Nutrition Check-Up Camp.
