It was last week that India let out that it accidentally fired a missile in Pakistan and that the “deeply regrettable” incident had arisen due to a technical malfunction in the course of its basic maintenance. However, now the United States has also asserted there is no evidence that the recent firing of a missile from India was anything other than incidental.
However, Pakistan had accused India of violating its airspace. It claimed that the missile which came from India’s side fell in Khanewal district within 124 km in Pakistan.
According to the PTI, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that “We do not have any indication that this was done knowingly, India has also said that it was nothing but an accident.”
India on Friday clarified that a missile was accidentally launched two days ago which fell in Pakistan. And, it was caused due to a technical fault during routine maintenance.
At the same time, Pakistan said that it was not satisfied with India’s clarification on the “accidental firing” of the missile. And, it has demanded a joint investigation to establish the facts around the incident accurately.
China also intervened in this matter. It has demanded an inquiry into the incident, saying that India and Pakistan should hold talks at the earliest and launch a thorough investigation into the recent “accidental firing” of a missile by India in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
