President Kovind and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands inspect Guard of Honor at Royal Palace of Amsterdam

Today, on Dam Square in Amsterdam, the President of India and the First Lady arrived. They were officially greeted by King Willem-Alexander at Royal Palace of Amsterdam.

The Royal Dutch Court of Netherlands had announced that  President Ram Nath Kovind will be on a state visit. As the de jure Head of State of India to the Netherlands. He will be meeting with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands at their invitation. Lest, to discuss important matters of global security from the 5th of April till the 7th.

Moreover, today the state visit of the President of India to the Netherlands officially begins. Since, this year marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The visit is a follow-up to the Royal Couple’s state visit to India in 2019.

After 34 years, another Indian President and de jure Head of State visited the Netherlands. Last in 1988, President Venkatraman had made a state visit to improve trade relations.
