The Indian Oil Corporation Limited has reaffirmed the stability of India’s domestic LPG supply, with Chairman Arvinder Singh Sahney stating that oil marketing companies are collectively supplying around 80,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas each day across the country. The statement comes amid continued focus on energy security and uninterrupted supply of essential fuels to households. According to the chairman, the combined efforts of all oil marketing companies are ensuring the smooth functioning of the domestic LPG distribution network, which remains critical for meeting everyday cooking and household energy needs.
Strong distribution network supports nationwide demand
India’s LPG distribution system is handling approximately 50 lakh domestic deliveries daily, reflecting the scale and efficiency of the country’s fuel supply infrastructure. The extensive network of distributors, bottling plants, and logistics systems enables timely delivery to both urban and rural consumers. Officials emphasised that the current supply levels are sufficient to meet normal demand conditions, with no major disruptions reported. The coordinated functioning of oil marketing companies has played a key role in maintaining consistent availability of LPG cylinders.
No supply concerns despite rising demand
Arvinder Singh Sahney clarified that there are no concerns regarding shortages or supply constraints, as existing production and distribution mechanisms are adequately meeting consumer requirements.
