IndiGo flight cancelled in Patna after bomb threat by an onboard passenger

Inquiry airport security officials contended that the passenger is mentally unstable.

A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight (6e 2126) was grounded at Patna airport after information of a bomb in the flight. A passenger on board claimed that have a bomb in his bag. However, soon after that all the passengers were deboarded and a Bomb squad team & police at the spot, checked his bag as well as the whole plane.

The passenger, who was identified as Rishi Chand Singh claimed that he was holding a bomb, after which a bomb disposal squad reached the spot. However, when they didn’t receive any lead, police arrested the passenger.

Soon, after inquiry airport security officials contended that the passenger is mentally unstable and the claim was completely baseless and hence a lie. In an interaction with India Today, Patna District Magistrate also informed the flight was grounded and a search was performed inside the flight but no bomb was found.

“Nothing was found but still a search is ongoing as per protocol. The flight has been canceled and will leave tomorrow morning,” he informed.
