India dismisses Pakistani claims of missile attacks on Afghanistan as completely false

In its latest press briefing held on Saturday morning — the fourth since the launch of Operation Sindoor — the Indian government firmly rejected Pakistan’s accusations that India had launched missile strikes on Afghan territory.

Speaking at the briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh clarified that no Indian missile or drone was ever launched toward Afghanistan, calling Islamabad’s claim fabricated and baseless.

“There is this yet again completely ludicrous claim that Indian mailers have hit Afghanistan totally frivolous allegation and I only want to point out that Afghan people don’t need to be reminded about which country it is that has on multiple occasions in just the last one and a half years targeted civilian populations and civilian infrastructure in Afghanistan…”

The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that India’s military operations under Operation Sindoor have been limited strictly to targeting terror infrastructure inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, including one Nepali national.

Colonel Qureshi reaffirmed India’s measured and precise approach, stating that every strike was planned to avoid civilian harm and was verified for its proximity to terror hubs. She said India remains committed to non-escalatory action, and all military moves have been targeted, proportionate, and legally justified.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh also pointed out that Pakistan’s attempts to internationalize the conflict by invoking unrelated third countries like Afghanistan is both irresponsible and misleading.

“India has not and will not engage in any military activity outside the designated zones of concern. Afghanistan has not been and will not be a theatre for our response,” she said.

India reiterated that its current military stance is focused on counter-terrorism, and reaffirmed its respect for Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
