“I stopped a war between two nuclear nations”: US President Trump claims major diplomatic victory btween India and Pakistan

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has claimed that he played a pivotal role in defusing a potential war between India and Pakistan, two of the world’s major nuclear-armed nations.

During a recent public appearance, Trump emphasised his hands-on involvement in avoiding what could have been a major regional conflict. “I stopped a war between two major nuclear nations. The people know,” said President Trump.

Trump, who is currently serving his second, non-consecutive term as the 47th President of the United States, highlighted the importance of diplomacy and personal connections in global peacekeeping. Speaking of his ties with both nations, he stated, “I love Pakistan. Modi is a fantastic man — spoke to him last night.”

He went on to credit Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the key figures involved in backchannel diplomacy.

“This man — the COAS from Pakistan — was extremely influential on their side, and Modi was very important on India’s side. I made a trade deal with both and stopped the war,” Trump said.
