
Member of Parliament from Bathinda, Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday, lashed out at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accusing him of drinking and driving the state, in the parliament. The Shiromani Akali Dal MP made the above comments, taking part in the debate on the topic: The problem of Drug abuse in the country and steps taken by the government.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal also accused former MP Bhagwant Mann of coming to the parliament drunk. Kaur brought out that, members of parliament sitting beside him requested a change of seat.
The MP said sarcastically that, if the Chief Minister is like this then you can imagine the condition of the state. She also claimed that the law and order situation in the state is deteriorating.
The MP also took the occasion to remind parliament of an incident in 2016, when Bhagwant Mann had crossed over security barricades, overlooking the security of the parliament. Following an uproar, Mann was suspended from the session, after a parliamentary panel found him guilty of putting the security of the parliament at risk. Bhagwant Man was the sole MP for AAP during the period.
Bringing attention to another such incident, the Bathinda MP brought out that, Mann was deboarded from a Lufthansa flight as he was inebriated. The MP also claimed that Lufthansa airline had ordered an enquiry against Bhagwant Mann. Lufthansa, however, later attributed the delay to a change in aircraft, in a tweet. Bhagwant Mann who is the chief minister of Punjab is two time MP from Punjab.
