Delhi University declares winter break from 13-19 November due to poor air quality

The University of Delhi has also released revised academic calendar for undergraduate and postgraduate students for the academic year 2023-24.

With the rise in pollution in Delhi and severe Air Quality, the Delhi government has implemented Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Also, to bring relief from the rising pollution, Delhi government is planning for artificial rain with help of IIT Kanpur.

With several restrictions implemented on vehicles, Delhi University has issued a notice declaring winter break from November 13 till November 19. However, University said that the prescheduled examinations and interview will be conducted without any hindrance.

DU’s Winter Break Notice:

The notice read, “In order to tide over the prevailing environmental pollution caused by Severe Air Quality and implementation of GRAP-IV measures in Delhi, it has been decided to declare 13.11.2023 to 19.11.2023 as winter break for the University and its Colleges.”

“However, all the prescheduled examinations and interviews will be held without any change in schedule. This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority,” it adds.

The University of Delhi has also released revised academic calendar for undergraduate and postgraduate students for the academic year 2023-24, in order to maintain syllabus after the winter break.
