Delhi Metro construction work begins for underground section Phase 4

Delhi Metro has begun its construction work of Underground project of Phase 4 on Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg corridor.

Construction of DWall(Diaphragm Wall ) and casting tunnel segment of 28.29 km corridor has started.

 this approximately 2 km long stretch will also have the Krishna Park Extension station in between as well as a 365-metre cut and cover open ramp near Keshopur leading to the elevated section.

Release has said. Work of D Wall at Krishna Marg Metro Station has already started.

The whole underground lines  from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg corridoe streches  for 7.74 km.

This work was awarded in December last year on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis. Despite all constraints like the shortage of labourers and materials due to lockdown, the milestone could be achieved on time

Janakpuri West – Krishna Ashram Marg corridor is the extension of Magenta line, consisting  of 22 stations.

Moreover, under phase 4 61.69 of  km metro lines will be constructed consisting 45 metro stations in three different corridors.
