Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launches ‘DGNCC’ mobile app for online NCC training

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday launched a mobile application called “DGNCC”, aimed at assisting in providing training for NCC cadets across the country.

“In view of the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, training of NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets has been affected adversely as it is mostly contact-based training,” said the Ministry of Defence in a statement.

The app is interactive with an option for raising queries along with materials, syllabus, training videos and FAQs. The cadets can post questions which will be answered by a panel of qualified instructors, according to the statement.

The Defence Minister also interacted with the NCC cadets during the launch of the app through video conferencing and wished them success to excel in all spheres of life. He also said that determination and self-confidence will help overcome all hurdles and achieve success.

Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar, Director General NCC lieutenant General Rajeev Chopra and other senior civil and military officials of the ministry were also present in the video conference.

Singh also said on Twitter about the benefits of this app for the NCC cadets during this pandemic.

The app will be helpful in imparting training to the NCC cadets by utilizing the digital medium at a time when opening of schools and colleges is uncertain.
