Pune crime branch officials plan to use advanced artificial intelligence (AI) tools to digitally reconstruct the accident involving a Porsche that killed two people on May 19 in Kalyani Nagar.

The crash occurred around 2.15 am when a minor driving a Porsche collided with a motorcycle, killing Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa. A senior Pune Police official mentioned that the crime branch unit will use AI technology to create a detailed digital reconstruction of the incident. A skilled cyber expert will use AI-powered software to accurately depict the crime scene, considering every detail like vehicle movements, the number of individuals present, and the speed of the Porsche.

“The intricate movement of vehicles, the precise number of individuals on the road, the staggering speed of the Porsche, and myriad other crucial factors will be painstakingly taken into consideration for the comprehensive reconstruction of the crime scene. As the accused is a minor, he cannot be physically taken to the spot. Invaluable inputs from the forensic department will also be seamlessly incorporated,” the official said.
