
Hyderabad, Dec 24 : Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy, affirmed the commitment of the new Congress Government in Telangana to the protection and welfare of all minority communities in the state.
Speaking to the media after meeting with Cardinal Poola Anthony, the Head of the Catholic Christian Community in South India, on Sunday to extend greetings for Christmas, Reddy highlighted the Congress party’s genuinely secular nature and its dedication to providing equal opportunities for all communities, especially minorities. He emphasized the party’s historical record of fair treatment to all communities, ensuring protection and safety for the rights, properties, and religious freedom of Christians and other minorities.
Reddy criticized the BJP-led government at the Center for allegedly fostering insecurity among minorities, citing incidents such as attacks on pastors and accusing the BJP of not taking prompt action. In contrast, he assured that the Congress Government in Telangana would adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards incidents of hatred and religious discrimination, ensuring the complete protection and welfare of all communities.
