Bhuvnesh Kumar, a seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1995 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). His appointment was made official on Wednesday, signaling the beginning of a new era for UIDAI under his leadership.
A gold medalist from the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Bhuvnesh Kumar has a stellar career with key positions both at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh. Alongside his role as CEO of UIDAI, he continues to serve as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Previously, he was the Joint Secretary in MeitY, contributing to important technological advancements in the country.
Bhuvnesh Kumar’s leadership extends to his tenure in Uttar Pradesh, where he held prominent positions such as Principal Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries, and Secretary in various departments, including Finance, MSME, and Technical Education. He has also served as the Divisional Commissioner of the Department of Land Revenue.
