Bengal government to meet protesting doctors over Kolkata murder case

West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant has invited junior doctors to a meeting with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at 5 pm today. The meeting comes in response to the ongoing protests over the alleged rape and murder of a 31-year-old female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

While the doctors had requested a live telecast of the meeting, the state government has declined this demand. However, they have agreed to record the discussion for transparency. The size of the doctors’ delegation has been limited to 15 members, though the doctors initially sought to have 30 representatives present.

The case is currently being investigated by the CBI, as the doctors continue their protests demanding justice for their colleague.
