On September 13, 2024, Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, planted an Amla tree in memory of his late mother, Smt. Sindhutai Ganpatrao Jadhav, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. The event took place at Ayush Bhawan, New Delhi.
During the ceremony, Shri Jadhav highlighted the campaign’s role in environmental conservation and its significance in honoring mothers and the motherland. He urged citizens across the country to plant medicinal plants and share their participation through social media by taking selfies, encouraging others to join the movement.
Launched by Prime Minister Modi on World Environment Day, June 5, 2024, the campaign aims to raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainable development. The Minister was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Ayush, including Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and National Medicinal Plants Board CEO, Dr. Mahesh Dadhichi.
The Ministry of Ayush and the National Medicinal Plants Board are playing a key role in promoting the planting of medicinal plants, aligning the campaign with the Prime Minister’s vision for a healthier environment and nation.
