Alvida Jumma 2025: High security measures in place amid Friday prayers

Security has been heightened across Uttar Pradesh for Alvida Juma 2025, the last Friday of Ramadan, with CCTV cameras, drones, and heavy police deployment ensuring safety during prayers.

As devotees gather for the last Friday of Ramadan, also known as Alvida Juma, Uttar Pradesh authorities have implemented strict security measures across sensitive areas. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed to maintain law and order.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Bharti stated, “The entire city has been divided into sectors for better surveillance. Drones and CCTV cameras are actively monitoring all key locations, and foot patrols are being conducted.”

Restrictions and Guidelines

Authorities in Sambhal and Lucknow have issued strict guidelines, ensuring that prayers take place only in designated mosques and Eidgahs, and not on roads or open areas. Additionally, intelligence units are monitoring social media to curb the spread of misinformation.

In Lucknow, over 1,000 police personnel and nine PAC companies have been stationed, while in Sambhal, 10 PAC and Rapid Response Force (RRF) companies are on duty.

Legal Measures: Section 163 of BNSS Imposed

The Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has imposed Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to ensure law and order, effective until March 31, 2025.

With authorities on high alert and peace committee meetings held with religious leaders, security forces are working to ensure a safe and peaceful observance of Alvida Juma 2025.
