Ahmedabad Air India crash: Tata Group to provide Rs 1 crore compensation to Victims’ families

In the wake of the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad, the Tata Group has extended heartfelt condolences and announced a comprehensive support package for the affected families.

Chairman of Tata Sons, N Chandrasekaran, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, “No words can adequately express the grief we feel at this moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and with those who have been injured.”

Tata Group has committed to providing ₹1 crore as compensation to the families of each victim who lost their life in the crash. In addition, the conglomerate will cover all medical expenses for the injured and ensure access to necessary care and rehabilitation.

As part of its long-term support initiatives, the Group has also pledged assistance in the development of B J Medical College’s hostel infrastructure, contributing to the region’s healthcare education capacity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his condolences through a heartfelt post on the social media platform X, saying, “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected.”
