Addressing the press, DG Air Operations, Air Marshal AK Bharti, highlighted the performance of India’s indigenous air defence capabilities during Pakistan’s aerial offensive:
Air Marshal AK Bharti says,
“Numerous waves of drones and unmanned combat aerial vehicles employed by Pakistan were also thwarted by the indigenously developed soft and hard kill counter-UAS systems and the well-trained Indian Air Defence personnel.”
He further praised the robustness of the Akash missile system and recent policy moves that enabled India to mount a seamless defence:
“Our battle-proven systems stood the test of time and took them head on. Another highlight has been the stellar performance of the indigenous air defence system, the Akash system. Putting together and operationalising the potent AD environment has been possible only because of budgetary and policy support from the Government of India in the last decade.”
These remarks follow India’s successful interception of over 300 drones and missiles launched under Pakistan’s Operation Bunyanun Marsoos. The armed forces confirmed no losses to infrastructure or personnel, reinforcing confidence in India’s domestically developed defence network.
