Union Budget 2021: Key points of Mission Poshan 2.0 in today’s budget

To strengthen Nutritional content, delivery, outreach and outcome, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the supplement Nutrition Programme and Poshan Abhiyan to be merged and to be launched as the Mission Poshan 2.0

The government aims to tackle malnutrition in India with its flagship nutrition scheme- Poshan Abhiyan. It also is an effort to expand the outreach of health and nutrition services among slum-dwellers and migrant population.

In Budget 2018-19, the Poshan Abhiyan was Rs. 3,000 crores. With an increase of Rs 400 crores, the Abhiyan was allocated budget Rs. 3,400 crores in Budget 2019-20.
