Today’s Closing Bell: Nifty and Sensex close confident; Zee Entertainment becomes top gainer

The Indian Equity market opened and closed confident with Nifty strong at 9,490 level. At close, Sensex was at 32,200.5 with 595.3 points, up 2 percent. Whereas, Nifty ended at a high with 175 points or 2 percent at 9,490. The second day in a row gains was led by private banks and auto.

The stocks of Zee Entertainment rose up by 10 percent and became the top gains in the trading session. Moreover, Nifty Bank and Nifty Auto Increased by 2 and 4 percent, respectively. However, Nifty PSU Bank ended in the red zone at 1,123, 0.39 percent drop.

The Key Highlights of the equity market as of May 28, 2020:

  1. Indian Indices end strong for the second day in a row with nifty above 9100 level.
  2. Zee Entertainment, Eicher Motors, Larsen, Hero MotoCorp, and IndusInd Bank become the top 5 gainers in the market.
  3. Whereas, Wipro, BPCL, ITC, Cipla, and JSW Steel joins the top losers in the NSE.
  4. Among sectorial Indices, Nifty Auto becomes the top gainer. Moreover, all sectoral shares end strong except Nifty PSU Bank.
  5. The Indian rupee ended at 75.76 against the US dollar, compared to its Wednesday’s close of 75.72.
  6. BSE Midcap and Smallcap closed with a 1 percent increase at 11,622 and 10,769, respectively. In Addition, all BSE sectoral indices ended on the green side.
  7. Nifty Media shares surged by 4 percent at 1,178 in the ending month of the market.
  8. HDFC, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the market movers. These stocks were active by volume.
  9. BSE Realty and BSE Metal gained 3 and 2 percent, respectively.
  10. Around 1507 shares have advanced, 801 declined, and 150 shares remain unchanged.
