Stock Market update: Sensex reclaims 61K-level as it climbs 400 points

Companies like M&M, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank were among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex index.

The stock market index BSE SENSEX reclaims 61K-level and over 400 points today in early trade. Today’s trade of BSE Sensex opened at 61023.3 and representing an increase of 0.67% and over 400 points. Whereas, NIFTY 50 opened at 18175.60 and represented an increase of 0.66% and 119.85 points.

Companies like M&M, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank are among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex index. The shares of M&M, Bharti Airtel, and IndusInd Bank rose by 3.23%, 2.54%, and 2.30% respectively. Infosys also showed an increase in its share price. However, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro showed a drop in their share price before the Q3 results. Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, Wipro, Titan Company and Tech Mahindra were the major draggers.

TCS, HDFC Bank, Wipro, Titan Company and Tech Mahindra dragged the contribution in stocks of Sensex by 1.56%, 0.65%, 1.30%, 1.46% and 0.76% respectively.

In the NIFTY 50 Index, Hindalco Industries, Reliance Industries, JSW Steel and Bajaj Finance were among the top gainers representing an increase of 2.46%, 2.21%, 1.80% and 1.54% respectively. However, Shree Cements, Britannia, Adani Ports, Nestle were the major draggers and their share prices fell by 1.47%, 1.29%, 0.58% and 0.47% respectively.
