Sensex rises by roughly 125 points and the Nifty50 opens above 17,550

The BSE Sensex increased by 124.27 points or 0.21 percent at market open to reach 58977.3, and the Nifty50 increased by 41 points or 0.23 percent to reach 17566.10. In line with the benchmarks, the larger markets saw opening gains of over 0.3% for Nifty midcap and 0.1% for Nifty smallcap.

In the early morning trade, 28 stocks made gains, 21 stocks had declines, and one stock showed no change.

At the opening, Hero Moto increased by about 2%, followed by Bharti Airtel, which increased by more than 1% following the release of Q1 earnings on Monday. At Wednesday’s market opening, UPL, Titan, and UltraTech Cement are all up between 0.7 and 1%.

Contrarily, Bajaj Finance lost the most to become the top Nifty loser, falling more than 1% minutes after the market opened, and was then followed by HCL Tech, which also fell 1%. As of this morning’s early trading, JSW Steel, Adani Ports, and Infosys are all down close to 1%.

Nifty’s FMCG and Pharma sectors, which are both up almost 0.3 and 0.5 percent, respectively, are helping the market the most. In contrast, Nifty IT and Metal are attempting to push the market down after each fell by over 1% and 0.2% in today’s early morning session, respectively.
