Mining stocks rise as the market declines

Mining stocks were trading higher at 9:59 a.m. on Tuesday.

Among the top gainers were Oriental Trimex (up 3.68%), Gujarat Mineral NSE 2.25% Dvpt Corporation (up 1.74%), MOIL (up 1.07%), KIOCL (up 0.88%), Orissa Minerals Development Company (up 0.50%), NMDC Ltd (up 0.49%), Ashapura Minechem (up 0.38%), and 20 Microns (up 0.17%).

Among the biggest losers were Pokarna (down 2.00%), Aro Granite Industries (down 1.61%), Madhav Marbles and Granites (down 1.37%), and Coal India (down 0.07%).

At roughly 09:59AM, the NSE Nifty50 index was trading 118.2 points lower at 17983.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 442.22 points at 60305.09.

The top gainers in the Nifty pack included Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.74%), JSW Steel (up 0.57%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE (up 0.39%), Divis Laboratories (up 0.25%), Apollo Hospitals NSE 0.98% Enterprises (up 1.19%), Hindalco Industries (up 1.13%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (up 0.94%), Power Grid Corporation of India (up 0.91%), and Tata Motors

Tata Consultancy (down 2.61%), Eicher Motors (down 1.67%), Hero MotoCorp (down 1.62%), Infosys (down 1.5%), Tech Mahindra (down 1.4%), State Bank of India (down 1.39%), HDFC Bank (down 1.31%), Bharti Airtel (down 1.16%), HDFC (down 1.05%), and ITC (down 0.9%) were among the companies that experienced losses.
