Mumbai, June 15: The equity market remained weak on Wednesday also, as the BSE Sensex dropped 152.18 pts to settle at 52,541.39 as selling was seen in Energy, Utilities, Oil and Gas and Power stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too slid 39.95 pts at 15,692.15
See saw trend was seen during the session, as the Sensex eased 43 pts to open at 52,650.41. During the day it lost 200 pts at 52,493.36, days low, before closing at 52,541.39, sliding 152.18 pts from its previous close.
Meanwhile, it was recovered 174 pts at 52,867.73, days high.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 52,867.73 and 52,493.36 pts respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,783.65 and 15,678.90 respectively.
The sectoral indices like Energy, Utilities, Oil and Gas and Power stocks kept the market under pressure.
In scrips, NTPC a major loser. Down by 1.95 pc to Rs 148.30 followed by other losers were Infosys by 1.40 pc to Rs 1420.10. Reliance Industries by 1.30 pc to Rs 2593.20, Hind Unilever by 1.13 pc to Rs 2147.60. And Wipro by 1 pc to Rs 440.50.
The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 4.24 pc to Rs 11,815.95, Bajaj finance by 2.13 pc to Rs 5490, Tata Steel by 1.67 pc to Rs 961.05, L & T by 0.96 pc to Rs 1560.05 and Asian Paints by 0.76 pc to Rs 2655.45.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.52 pc and Small Cap by 0.49 pc. In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.
