BIG UPDATE: Nifty hits record mark of 16,000 points

Nifty 50 touched an all-time high of 16000 points, while BSE Sensex reached 53,83. Asian Paints, HDFC Bank are among the top gainers today.

Domestic equity market benchmark BSE and Nifty 50 hits a record high on Tuesday. Nifty 50 touched an all-time high of 16,000 points while BSE Sensex hit a new record of 53,83.

 

According to Financial Express, RIL, Asian Paints, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Titan Company, TCS, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finserv were among the top Sensex gainers while Bajaj Auto, ICICI Bank, and Tata Steel are among the top index losers.

Gaurav Garg, Head of Research, CapitalVia Global Research told Financial Express, “We have witnessed the breach of 15950 levels, sustaining above 15950, we expect the market to gain momentum, leading to an upside projection till 16100-16150 level. Technical indicators also support positivity in the market. Higher earnings being posted by companies in the global market is another factor adding to the positive sentiments in the market.”

 

In February 2021, Nifty touched the 15000 marks. Nifty slipped below 8000 points in March 2020.
