
In the fortnight ended February 25, bank credit increased by 7.9 percent to Rs 116.27 lakh crore, while deposits increased by 8.6 percent to Rs 162.17 lakh crore, according to RBI data.
According to the Reserve Bank of India’s Scheduled Banks’ Statement of Position in India as of February 25, bank advances totalled Rs 107.75 lakh crore and deposits totalled Rs 149.33 lakh crore in the fortnight ended February 26, 2021. Bank credit increased by 7.86% and deposits increased by 9.11% in the previous week, which ended February 11, 2022.
According to the Reserve Bank of India’s Scheduled Banks’ Statement of Position in India as of February 11, bank advances totalled Rs 107.03 lakh crore and deposits totalled Rs 147.81 lakh crore in the fortnight ended February 12, 2021. Bank credit increased by 5.56 percent and deposits increased by 11.4 percent in 2020-21.
